The PIA was formed 15 years ago with the objective of helping to create the appropriate market conditions and infrastructure for long-term success for businesses in Africa. The members are united and motivated by a common vision to help accelerate economic growth and social development across the continent.

Over the years, the PIA has made significant strides in influencing the business climate, particularly in the areas of power, health & safety, jobs & skills development and agriculture. The PIA achieves this by bringing together its members to provide business input to international institutions – most notably the Bretton Woods institutions- and local African governments, and by sharing best practices amongst its members. Over the past 2 years the group has met with the governments and local private sector of Ethiopia, Cote D’Ivoire and Mozambique.

This 13-15 April 2016, the PIA executives will be convening in Luanda to engage with the Angolan government on building sustainable economic development and growth through partnerships with the private sector and to further understand the country’s investment prospects.

The PIA’s secretariat is based in Brussels, Belgium. For more information, please visit http://www.privateinvestorsforafrica.org/
